As a public anchor for Austin Avenue in Waco, the Stratton Square development will reinvigorate the historic Stratton building and add 95 loft dwelling units to a growing downtown core. The Art Center inhabits the dramatic main hall of the existing building. An opening to the basement creates a visual dialogue with the main floors and the street, expanding the range of public programs and access into the evening.The L-shaped Stratton Square Lofts defines a strong public corner at Franklin Avenue and South 8th Street. The building takes its material palate and updated architectural language from the historic context.
